In 2007 for the first time all Connecticut cities and towns will be utilizing a new voting device.

The old lever machines are prohibited from being used and the new “Optical Scan System” will be utilized.

Lori Kaback Bio
Lori Kaback was elected Danbury Town Clerk on Tuesday November 8, 2005. Lori received the second highest number of votes among all the candidates running for office that year. Lori was administered the oath of office by Attorney General Richard Blumenthal and assumed the duties of Town Clerk on December 1, 2005.

Lori is a lifelong resident of Danbury and a graduate of Danbury public schools and of Gibbs College, Office Administration Program. She is a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, The Lebanon American Club Ladies Auxiliary, The Lions Club of Danbury, The Amerigo Vespucci Lodge #160 and a past volunteer of DAYO.

Lori has worked in the Town Clerk’s Office since 1993 when she was an Assistant Registrar of Vital Statistics. In 1997 she was appointed Assistant Town Clerk and served in that capacity for eight years. From November 7, 2002 through January 2, 2003 Lori served as Acting Town Clerk.


Lori's Accomplishments

Redesigned the vault area and Town Clerk’s front office to be in compliance with State of Connecticut safety regulations and better service for the public

Relocated Computers to the front office area for easy access

The Land Record Index System was made available online for easy public access

Turn Around Time for return of Original Documents reduced by 50 percent


Cross trained staff for 100% familiarity by each staff member with all aspects of the Town Clerk’s office


Enrolled in the Town Clerk certification program


Recorded in excess of 39,000 documents and 4,000 vital records during 2006


Created a public friendly environment and professional customer service attitude where “the taxpayer comes first”


More stringent travel regulations have increased demand for individual Vital Records and the Town Clerks Office has continued to meet this increased demand by the public
